Good Samaritans, Honolulu EMS Responds To Pediatric Near Drowning

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services responded to a five-year old boy who was found unresponsive at the bottom of a swimming pool. The 911 call came in just before 10:00 a.m. Sunday, at the address of 92-161 Waipahe Place. Bystanders noticed the boy and quickly pulled him out of the water and began cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Honolulu EMS arrived and continued advanced medical treatment. The Japanese visitor began to cough up water, wake up and cry. EMS continued with life saving treatment en route to an emergency room.
Honolulu EMS acknowledges the quick actions of the Good Samaritans to recognize something was very wrong and the hotel staff, who with the Good Samaritans, started CPR which led to a young boy's life being saved.
