Honolulu Ocean Safety Rescues Two Stranded Kayakers
November 7, 2022
Honolulu Ocean Safety with the Honolulu Fire Department responded to a 911 call this morning for two kayakers, in distress in the waters off of Portlock near Spitting Caves. The call came in from a witness on shore just after 8:00am. The kayakers, a male and female, both 81-years O'ahu residents, were separated from their kayaks and found standing on the reef about 100 years offshore. Lifeguards via jet ski rescued the couple and brought them to shore safely. The couple did not require treatment by the Honolulu Emergency Medical Services. We want to acknowledge the 911 caller who greatly assisted with this rescue.
